Leszek Balcerowicz appointed as FOR president

From 14th of January, the work of the Civil Development Forum Foundation will be led by the founder of FOR, Leszek Balcerowicz. Sławomir Dudek and Patrycja Satora are leaving the Foundation.

– We are facing very important elections which will determine the direction of Poland's development, the rule of law, Poland's position in the European Union and in the world. It will also be an extremely important year for organizations such as FOR, which judge the state of the economy, the rule of law and preparing propositions of reforms. That is why I decided to increase my involvement in the foundation's activities - declares Leszek Balcerowicz.

The current board members, Sławomir Dudek, president of the board, and Patrycja Satora, board member, are leaving FOR, by mutual consent of the parties.

– Sławomir Dudek deals with the subject of public finance for years. I am convinced that we will continue to cooperate in this area, which is very important for stability and development. I would like to thank the departing management board’s members, Sławomir Dudek and Patrycja Satora, for their cooperation so far - adds Balcerowicz.

In addition to Leszek Balcerowicz, who will take the position of the President of the board, the new members of the FOR’s board are long time and experienced associates of the Foundation - Kinga Królik and Marcin Zieliński. Marek Tatała joined the FOR Council, and Błażej Moder will be the acting Chairman of the Council.

– During this year, which is particularly important for the future of Poland, FOR intends to reliably assess the activities of the government and the postulates emerging in the election campaign from the perspective of their impact on the long-term growth, competitiveness, public finances, labor market and the depoliticization of the economy by strengthening private ownership. We will also be active in areas such as the rule of law and immigration policy. I hope in these areas we will find many allies for whom the future of the Polish economy and democracy is important - sums up Balcerowicz.
